Good job getting detail in the coat. Try and pay more attention to the background, the horizon line goes right through his eyes and the tree sticks up right through his head.

Since this Giant has a natural ear crop, We would recommend really working those ears to bring them up much higher. If his hear set is naturally low, then a three quater angle on his face would be better as the expression will be more sharp (something you'd want for a breed portrait) But note, shooting in the middle of the day like this will always put a deep shadow right over his eyes because of his eyebrows. Clever, making a pose that would turn his face up, into the light. If you want to do a pose without turning his face up into the light, you HAVE to use a flash even outside in the bright sunshine. We'd like to see you go for another shot of this dog, at a three quarter angle, shoot the dog looking directly past your lens and take a friend with you to alert the dog to really work his/her hears. Crop vertically instead of horizontally, so that the dog's entire chest is in the bottom frame.
