As far as a Candid Portrait goes, this is beautiful. The lighting is good and the green looks beautiful behind his white and chestnut coat. Since you mentioned that you shot this at the Papillon National, we'd like to suggest that a good breed portrait, although it would take away from the spontenaiety, would have his pasterns straight up and down and give him more bend to his stifles. When we shoot, we're often working with someone who wants an advertising campaign centered around our pictures. Our pictures have to be as good as what the dog will be in the ring and as we all know, handlers really can make a dog. The best ones will pay attention to the little details like a break in the pasterns or a straight stifle. Of course, we know that this was a candid that you saw and grabbed and we love the angle of his face as it ads a dynamic element.
